Why Client Experience Matters When You're Choosing a Builder

After years running building projects across St Helens and Rainford, I’ve learned that the reviews a builder gets tell you more than any brochure could. Anyone can promise quality, but it’s the client who’s lived through the build who tells you whether that promise held up.
Here’s what I look for, and what I try to give every client of ours.
How long it actually takes
Most people ask about the timeline before anything else, and fair enough, you’re planning your life around it. A garage conversion with us is usually two working weeks, start to Building Control sign-off. A garden room takes a bit longer since it’s built from scratch on your plot. Bigger jobs like a knock-through or full extension vary more, but we’ll always give you a realistic number up front, not an optimistic one.
Pricing you can actually follow
No two conversions are the same, so I’ve never been keen on pulling a price out of thin air. We price to your ground, your access and your spec, and once we’ve agreed a number, that’s what you pay. No surprise line items halfway through. It’s not the fastest way to quote a job, but it’s the only way I’d want to be quoted if it were my own house.
Being straight with you
The best reviews we get aren’t about the finished room. They’re about how the job went while it was happening. Did we turn up when we said we would? Did we flag a delay before you noticed it yourself? That’s what actually builds trust, and it’s what I hold the team to.
Have a read
If you want to see what that looks like in practice, our reviews and testimonials page has the honest version, good and bad, from people we’ve actually built for. Worth a look before you get a quote, from us or anyone else.
